About the role

Project Summary: The Communities Creating Homes team aims to support the delivery of community-led housing in Wales. In line with our strategy, the team will work to double the number of groups taking forward community-led housing in Wales by 2027. They will support the delivery of 150 new homes in this period and establish a development pipeline for a further 250 homes

Job Summary: To work closely with community groups, supporting them to deliver community-led housing (CLH) projects, by providing technical knowledge directly or via referral to appropriately qualified consultants outside of the team, such as solicitors. Also, to support the CCH Project Manager to raise awareness of CLH, to ensure that there is a continuous pipeline of new community groups ready to embark upon the process of developing their own CLH.

Job Requirements:

1. a Detailed understanding of community-led housing (including forms, delivery approaches, challenges, benefits)

2. an Understanding of the social housing sector in Wales

3. Significant experience of working directly with diverse community groups

4. Demonstrable knowledge of the process of developing a community-led housing project (including organisation development, governance, legal structures, finance)

5. Demonstrable understanding of the stages involved in the development of housing (such as land acquisition, planning, construction)

6. Demonstrable knowledge of the Welsh housing policy environment at both local and national levels

7. The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh

Starting salary: £41,787 per annum

Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2023.

Hours: 35 per week

Location: Home-based in North Wales with travel across North Wales and Occasionally beyond

Closing date: 22:00, Sunday 10th September 2023.

Salary: £41,787.00 per year
